About the Author
Kenneth S. Dowdy was born in Frankfurt a/M, Germany on May 19, 1961. He
started playing the trombone the summer before he entered 6th grade, and
played it through high school. Like many, his trombone was retired at the
end of high school. He took up the trumpet and cornet when his children
started music classes in school, and later returned to the trombone after
hearing Urbie Green's "Bein' Green" recording. He currently works as a Nuclear
Program Coordinator in the Reliability Engineering Department of the Fort
Calhoun Nuclear Station near Omaha, Nebraska. Other interests include shooting,
small engine repair and model railroading. He is married with three children,
